This seems a shocking indictment on the NRL’s concussion protocols after Tongan forward Eli Katoa underwent emergency brain surgery after a series of head knocks prior to & during the game against NZ yesterday. CH9 says the NRL are investigating whether procedures were followed.

Heartbroken to learn Shane Christie had died in New Zealand. He retired from rugby in 2017 due to #concussions. After Billy Guyton died & was diagnosed with #CTE, Shane became a fierce advocate. My thoughts are with Shane’s family, friends & teammates.
