Let's redefine engineer (or call it something new). Right now, people who operate machines and people who create/run software are 2 diff categories. We need 3rd category for people who do both. This fill the gap & helps make mfg jobs more attractive.
@E_Bruxxx 100% agree with your take on the need. Industry needs to align with training our workforce. Education is working on assumptions of skill set that I feel are 5 years old or more in many cases. Without direct feedback from industry and education alignment. Education is going to.

In a track 1 kind of way, also applies to talent. Build factories in states where people are more likely to 1) work a factory job (historical muscle memory) 2) be attracted to the message of natl good & security. Track 2 is changing the other states.

Still mulling on @chamath tweet re: SV motivation of $$ > mission. Building back American manufacturing workforce requires diff view. Values matter to Americans. Critical to closing that talent gap is accurate messaging + culture. Most Americans don't think in millions.

If the most recent @Microsoft Chinese contractors scandal doesn't deter Americans from buying @MercedesBenz, then the ave white collar UX w/ them should. What a silly & dangerous decision.

Yes. Leverage talent branding targeting multiple groups w/ diff messages: those whom you want to work for you, those who are inclined to work for you, those who could in the future. Critical for mfg organizations who are relying on a great American comeback, a la @reindsummit.
Most people assume that the purpose of employing narrative and propaganda is to attract capital and paying customers. In reality, great propaganda helps create talent density, who build great companies/products, which attracts capital, which attracts more talent, etc. etc.

This is my kind of breaking news. More please. Congratulations, y'all!.
Not just a factory. A weapon of democracy. Not just steel. A message to the world. @UNION_Prime FACTORY-01 is live. The American arsenal is awake. —. Thank you, @ashroque13 🇺🇸.

If you live in an urban environment, this has to be one of the most tangible EOs from @POTUS. Friends, men and women, and I were just discussing this. Frustration is high. Can't wait for @micsolana @PirateWires take.
NEW: President Donald J. Trump just signed an executive order to restore order to American cities and remove vagrants from our streets. Here is the text of the order:. By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it.

(3/3) If you "grew up" in CA (either by birth or career wise) & are stepping into mfg, your organization MUST know the differences. Quick side note, building company towns like @anduriltech is aiming towards, is an interesting delve into successes of the past. Something to watch.

(1/3) Thinking this is 100% right misses 50% of the opportunity. There is a portion of the population that falls into this & an urban setting. Maj of middle America doesn't & it is they who will fill the mfg talent gaps. Building the @reindsummit movement outside of CA is.
"Everyone keeps talking about reindustrializing the country, but nobody's talking about the reality that nobody wants to work off some random freeway exit in the middle of Texas.". @jansramek (Founder & CEO @CAForever) on how he’s thinking about building a new kind of

2010s debate was if economic security links w/ natl security. Adding ES teams to D/As in govt met criticism that making everything national security is an abuse. That is a mindset that cannot see past today and is why we're in this mess. We respond in the nuclear mushroom (1/2).

Good timing on the heels of @reindsummit . The talent gap is wide but while the bridge is being built, mfg comms and talent teams need to leverage every resource currently available.
You don’t need a four-year degree and tens of thousands of dollars in student debt to land a good-paying job. ➡️ . THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

Important: America is made of the simply faithful- commitment to whatever your slice of the pie is. Could be a start up gambler w/ charisma. Most likely, it's a family man giving 5 jobs to his community. Every slice makes up the American pie. This is why @reindsummit matters.
Walking around talking to attendees, I heard a number of SMB owners say: . "I'm just doing boring manufacturing work - nothing like these what these amazing startups are doing.". TBH, doing manufacturing at scale is one of the hardest things to do well. It is not boring - it is.

No thousand words needed for this picture. a perfect example of the gulf between those who build and those who destroy, either through words and ideas or complacency. @reindsummit is here to build.
Disappointed at the protestors at @reindsummit - only ten of you and the chants were awful! . If you're gonna do it, at least do it properly, nerds.

Making manufacturing cool again is cute. Making manufacturing a viable way for every day Americans to contribute to national security is imperative. It can't be a fad. It must be a way of life. @reindsummit is a catalyst for the moment that is ripe for the taking by the serious.

Heading to Detroit experiencing @TSA no longer requiring shoes off while shuffling through @BWI_Airport feels providential. The common sense movement of @reindsummit is rubbing off. Obviously more good things to come!.

This is a critical policy area for @StateDept and @DeptofDefense- fund and supply talent pipelines that fulfill short AND long term needs that support the whole industrial base, of which defense benefits. @reindsummit will the case for the broader rebuilding.
American manufacturing is gridlocked. 4 stakeholders have aligned goals, misaligned incentives:. - Industry wants growth, can’t find talent.- Govt wants jobs, chases headlines.- Education chases prestige (and $), not pipelines.- Tech wants scale, not fit. All want a stronger USA.
