I didn’t realize the response that I would get from attending. My talk at the @reindsummit hit these keys points:. 1. I was once one of these students that shop class changed my life. Not because I liked to build things, it was because it was meaningful. We did real work.

The chances are high that the Hawthorne High metal shop supplied workers in both of those factories. I know for a fact that we have alumni on the floor of SpaceX and the roots of our program are old enough that we are close to have alumni that walked the floor of Jack.

Many educational manufacturing programs and engineering programs work in isolation. Doesn’t matter what level. They need active engagement from industry. Not just to excite the youth but to guide what they teach. I am actively trying to build a list of education programs that.
