Loved the genuine frustration mixed with insights - made me laugh out loud a few times. Kept re-reading sections packed with intricate details. Now I have new tabs open from all the references. Really well written.
I wrote up my learnings after reading about "durable execution" and its connections to database transactions, RPC etc.

@googlemaps Others will slowly eat at it if @googlemaps remains stagnant. Case in point:.
My habits of finding a restaurant are changing quickly. Used to be places like Google Maps, or review sites. Now I go to Perplexity and ask "what are restaurants suitable for {even type} with {number of people} near {location of choice}" . Works very well IME

It's a shame @googlemaps doesn't have an AI Agent you can chat with about a place's reviews. Like Rufus for Amazon product reviews.

Looks like the "Show fewer shorts" in @YouTube is like the "Close Door" button in the elevator. Both don't do anything. 😂.

Absolute pleasure to watch @viktorklang and @BrianGoetz take a first pass at Java Serialization (take 2). This is pre JEP folks and love where it is going. I wonder how it'll fit with Protobuf/Avro etc, from the looks of it, it should work well as long.
