Mad to see the media going doolally about this Guinness 60/40 thing of late. We were tweeting about the same thing (more or less) a year ago. And why do none of them seem to mention the fact that Guinness Mid Strength is a thing?
In other drinking news from over the weekend, I encountered someone ordering a Guinness Shandy, which turned out to be a mixture of 00 and normal Guinness.

Ya see this craic with the southsiders not wanting the Metro. Can we not just do the Northside metro and leave it at that?

We follow a lot of pubs on Instagram. It's, what? About 20 hours since that goal? And we still haven't gotten through all the insta stories with footage of punters jumping around when the ball hit the back of the net. It's the only thing getting me through work if I'm honest.

Dublin's Pro Cathedral received an upgrade from Pope Leo today. Full cathedral status. Briodys, itself a superior basilica, a timeless temple of sociability with its own devoted congregation, sits scarcely a church pew down the road. Marlborough St now houses twin cathedrals.

Some lovely Dublin Pub photographs from Time Life's The Great Cities: Dublin 1978. A recent purchase.

If you’re in the pub tonight have a look around you. Memorise the faces. These are the real ones. Mid-week November, no football on, just pints and chat. These are the people that deserve seats in the summer when all the part-timers appear because the suns out. Proper boozers.

A completely unchanged view of the upstairs of the Lord Edward, one of my favourite images in The Dublin Pub book. This 1970s image is from the extraordinary Fáilte Ireland Tourism Photographic Collection (DCLA).

POV: You're in Doheny & Nesbitts.
Tomorrow on Cheeky Pint: Dave Ricks of @EliLillyandCo, the $800b pharmaceutical giant, joins @patrickc and me to talk about drug development, how Eli Lilly does R&D, and GLP-1s upending the pharma market.

Just about finished a few weeks' work on our website. Complete re-design, new branding and moved to a much faster host. Also, setup an Etsy in an effort to start shifting the accumulation of photos I have lying around the gaff. Read all about it here: https://t.co/sg3UNc9yW1

Good place for a pint this afternoon, for the day that's in it. #Aras25 #PresidentialElection
