We spend hours documenting and maybe that’s the issue - we still think of the #EHR as a series of documents, each one carrying forward the prior. What if we could re-imagine the #EHR to be something else entirely? Like a timeline?
What % of #EHR text is directly duplicated from a prior note? 6 yrs 100+ mil notes 33 B words 192 B characters Duplicated text ⬆️ from 33% in 2015 to 54% in 2020 Blocking copy forward is not the answer. We must reimagine #documentation

Residency applicants, you may certify and submit your MyERAS application before the MSPE is available. We have asked programs to keep in mind potential impacts of hurricane and tropical storm disruptions.

Our thoughts are with the people of Puerto Rico. Program staff, please remember residency applicants in PR may be facing challenges from hurricane damage. We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates and guidance as the application review and interview season begins.

Harvard MBTA Station, Cambridge, MA 02163 A uniquely subterranean location, this Dunkin is an oasis nestled in the bosom of the Harvard Square MBTA station. The moment of joy when it appears at the bottom of the escalator cannot be replicated at other locations.

We’re so proud that Dr. Jack Resneck has been named president of the American Medical Association (@AmerMedicalAssn)! He's the first president of the AMA from California since 2007 and the first dermatologist since 1925. Congratulations, @JackResneckMD!

A lot of medical training runs on verbal and written feedback. This made me think about the feedback I’ve received and more importantly, how I can be more cognizant of the feedback I give. #dermtwitter #medtwitter
In this large-scale study of military performance measures, negative words — like selfish, passive, and scattered — were much more frequently applied to women.

During the peak pandemic, I wrote about how tablets helped to connect isolated, hospitalized patients with their families. As we build our post-pandemic world, I hope this is one of the solutions that's here to stay. #medtwitter #dermtwitter @washingtonpost
In our latest @washingtonpost, we highlight how @BIDMChealth's tablet program has brought dignity to death during #COVID19. Let this not detract from our important conversation about racism, but help amplify our means to serve our marginalized patients. https://t.co/eH5nZPsIcc

What does it mean to launch a tool "meant to help patients" but shouldn't be used as a diagnostic? Google is launching Derm Assist, an AI tool for skin disease. While Google has certainly advanced the field of AI in dermatology, I have concerns. (a thread)
bbc.com
The tech giant says its "dermatology assist" tool can recognise 288 different skin ailments.

India's health system is on the verge of collapse America can help. My piece in @washingtonpost on how the world’s oldest democracy (the U.S.) can help the world's largest democracy (India). It's time to act. https://t.co/vr6MboZgog

The world's oldest democracy must come to the aid of the world's largest democracy.

Heartbreaking to follow the recent developments in India. The global community must step up and immediately offer the assistance needed. #CovidIndia
'We've only been here a few hours and have seen half a dozen people die while they wait for treatment.' India has recorded more than 332,000 #COVID19 cases in a single day. @AlexCrawfordSky reports from Delhi, where people are "begging for oxygen." https://t.co/2DIoxqdjOz

How we listen is one of the most important factors that determines how our relationships go and how successful we are in work, family, parenting, and friendship. Isn’t it interesting that we’re far more motivated to improve our talking skills than our listening skills.
