The Ford government awarded the contract for the 401 tunnel study to WSP Canada, a consulting firm currently being sued by the city of Toronto for mishandling repair work on the Gardiner.
NEW: the Ford government is investing new money in the tunnel under the 401. We've learned a $9.1 million contract has been awarded for a feasibility study, the first step of what has been projected to be a $50-100 billion project.
