the solution shouldn’t be putting more of a burden on the applicant, especially a financial one where people are applying to hundreds of jobs, it’s predatory and dystopian . and the main issue for job searching isn’t the application itself but how the app is filtered . also this.
insufficient friction seems easily solvable: have an application fee + security deposit . eg $30 to apply, $25 refunded upon rejection . why don't companies do this? payment systems have *too* much friction?.
