Come to think of it, denigrating the worth of a soldier’s service based on whether he deployed to a war zone is… kind of like denigrating the worth of a woman’s citizenship based on whether she happens to have children.

When my wife and I decided to have children, we spent years going through fertility treatments. I remember praying each night for a call with good news, or the agony when we heard the treatments hadn't worked. When we welcomed our daughter into the world, we named her Hope.
