Apparently I’m not disabled because I don’t list each one of my disabilities in my bio. I put the word disabled because it should be enough and it also shouldn’t impact upon how you decide to treat me. You can deny my disabilities all you like but it doesn’t make them not exist!

Health isn’t a fixed/permanent state for everyone & not all disabled folx are affected in the same way. If you’re disabled & can work you’re really fortunate. This doesn’t give you the right to boast about your ability or chastise those who cant work because of their disability.

When I was 15 my best friend was stabbed. It was cold & dark outside & the only thing I had with me to stop the bleeding was a scarf. My friend was crying “get my dad, I don’t want to die”, he died in the ambulance. The man who murdered him served 11 months & is now under UKPPS.

Yesterday at the protest, I met a beautiful woman. We instantly clicked & she referred to herself as an 'active talker’, just like me. She was charming, caring & empathetic. I hope we meet again one day. Such simple acts of kindness make a significant impact & go such a long way!
