Home visit to see my 103-year old patient! Firstly, she was amazing and secondly I also got a few extra steps in which was great! I don’t usually get much of a break during my clinic but the 5 min walk in the fresh air did the world of good! ☀️ 🚶♀️ #NHS #GP #homevisit

The medical regulator the GMC says UK services are in a critical state, those who work in them are at breaking point. In an annual review based on a survey of more than four thousand doctors, the GMC said many were cutting their hours and declining extra work – “very concerning”

Today's Times. The govt's new visa changes have caused an 83% fall in visas granted to health & care workers. We have: 152k social care vacancies 121k NHS vacancies. This is catastrophic for our NHS & care sectors. The govt is putting anti-immigrant populism above care.

We have overwhelmingly voted to reject the Government and NHS England’s 2024/25 GP contract changes. More than 19,000 GPs and GP Registrars took part in the BMA’s referendum, with over 99% voting ‘no’. Our message can't be any clearer. https://t.co/VYNmj1p2Ur

📣RCGP sets out 'red lines' for physician associates in general practice Listen to @KamilaRCGP reiterate that physician associates must always work under the supervision of a qualified GP and should never be expected to perform the full range of work a doctor undertakes.
Our latest podcast is out. Ahead of this week's RCGP annual conference, @rcgp chair @KamilaRCGP speaks to @EmmaBower about spiralling practice workload, GP retention and the run-up to the next general election https://t.co/6MWwRG2YGT

Helpfully the RcGP's new statement does make recommendations against this particular case 'they cannot act as a substitute for GPs, with their unique skill sets in areas such as diagnosing undifferentiated symptoms' - so undiff. abdo pain should be off the table
Please see our statement in relation to our recent Physician Associate post on social media in the images below. (1/2)

‘205 additional medical spaces in 2024’ will never fix the NATIONAL shortage of doctors in the NHS! 🤯🤯🤯 The DHSC needs to focus on retention and improving the conditions for doctors otherwise we will inevitably see all 205 doctors move overseas ✈️ 🇦🇺

The early symptoms of a heart attack don’t always feel severe. A squeezing across the chest. A feeling of unease. It’s never too early to call 999 and describe your symptoms.

❤️ NHS HEART ATTACK campaign❤️ Whilst most people know a heart attack is a medical emergency, a new survey found that they’re less aware of the signs and symptoms to look out for! Remember, it’s never too early to call 999 and describe your symptoms. 📞💙🏥 #nhs #heartattack

Having changed from surgery one of the best things about General Practice is the variety. Not just the fact you get to work in different settings as a GP but the patients you see and the people you work with! #NHS #GP #UrgentCare
