NYC hates its child population. Encountered ANOTHER padlocked playground (it was 45 degrees out). Hopped the fence w my friend, liberated my son, and 25 other kids took little boosts from us to hop the fence. Joy. Then the city said they'd fine me & they needed to see my ID.

This article blows my mind, the only reason I ever saw parks locked growing up is because teenagers got drunk to make a bonfire in there and it hadn't been cleaned up yet. Few things tick me off like overbearing and undeserved authority, it's why i didn't get along with teachers,.
If you're pro-natalist, you should care about THIS!. On a rare early spring day (45 degrees!), we stumbled across a padlocked playground (managed by Hudson River Park Trust), closed for "icy conditions." I boosted my son over fence & helped ~25 other kiddos enter too.

i can't take tech people seriously when they say "i want to move to the country". no you DON'T. there is nothing to do yet everybody knows everybody (this is not a good thing). i knew ~5000 people until i was 18, many high schools out here have 5000 students, it is incomparable.
I want to rant about something: So when you enter your 30s, a lot of your friends get married & move into an isolated situation with their spouse. Of all the people I've seen do this, it seems to have served maybe only one couple well, and they're hardcore buddhist meditators,.
