On my Patreon I recall the ousting of Commissioner Doone in 2000 for far far less serious matters than what the pre-2025 Police hierarchy did. I also look at whether the affair itself should have disqualified McSkimming from being Deputy Commissioner or Commissioner.

Thank God, McSkimming was not appointed Commissioner - despite being the preferred candidate of the Police hierarchy.

It is hard to overstate how damning the IPCA report is for the former Police hierarchy. They charged a young woman making allegations of sexual abuse against the Deputy Commissioner, and their main focus was on making sure the allegations would not stop him being made Cmsner.
