Great sports writing can take the reader there when he/she isn’t fortunate enough to be there. This is a terrific piece.
I loved writing this. In the rain with Robert MacIntyre as he waited to see his fate play out at Oakmont. Amazes me how an otherwise dull tournament can turn in the blink of an eye.
