Whenever I see a teenager go deep in a major, I always think of the legend that is Monica Seles….She won 8 majors AS A TEENAGER!! Think about that folks…

@usopen
No way this is a default, chair umpire was initially correct. It’s almost like she’s chipping the ball to the ball kid to catch. Roger used to do this all the time. Ball kids catches it, and it’s a round of applause…disgraceful from the opponents who demanded a default.
Miyu Kato & Aldila Sutjiadi just got defaulted as Kato hit a ball girl accidentally at 6-7(1), 3-1.
Ball girl is okay but got scared & started crying. Kato went to check on her & apologize but nothing could be done — supervisor called, default confirmed.
Novak is The King of the concrete Jungle where oversized dreams are made…
He leaves the rare air of 23 (Majors) and climbs into a galaxy of his own, a place, where no other player in the Open era has ever been

You know what I love about
@rogerfederer
......he’s authentic. His winner’s speech and everything it entailed shows how much he genuinely loves his sport and his family. He takes nothing for granted. Others can learn a lot from him...
SERVED with Roddick (and Jon Wertheim) is the best tennis podcast I’ve listened to. The sport has needed this. It’s Unfiltered, A-Rod doesn’t need to pander to anyone in the industry, so nothing is off the table, he was a proper player and JW is a proper journalist!
Shout out to Riccardo Piatti, who I’m sure was watching the AO final. The coach that built the foundations of Sinner’s game from the age of 14, must be oh so proud of his protege this evening.
#BuiltInBordighera
Mental Giant is Novak, different gravy…I hope Sebi can maintain this level throughout 2023. His ball striking is pure…Nice to see so many youngsters knocking on the door. but ND still keeping it firmly shut!
I wished I would have focused A LOT MORE on depth of my shots when developing my game. These days we are obsessed by power, and racquet-head speed. But DON’T NEGLECT DEPTH, it’s the silent killer in our sport.
Djokovic is the king in that Dept.

Of course…can’t believe this is even a discussion. Elite athletes in every sport, but especially an individual sport, don’t like their rivals to know anything about their “trade secrets.” Competition 101. Ever seen Pierre Paganini’s training regime for Roger? No chance…
Big shout out to Horia Tecau, who retires from Tour life today. What a class act, from first ball to last. A great ambassador for the game both on (but especially) and off the court! Major champion, Olympic medal, UNICEF ambassador, what a CV buddy. Enjoy the next chapter.
A clash of Titans. How lucky are we to see this generation of players. We may never see anything like this again, so watch it, drink it in and enjoy every moment...

3am in NYC...can’t sleep after that epic. Night matches
@usopen
are something quite special. So were
@RafaelNadal
and
@ThiemDomi
tonight.Thanks for the memory, it will be etched in my brain forever.
Next level mental training and conditioning…We know it, but these subtleties just emphasise how much ND trains his brain. Love it!!(Courtesy of Jelena.)
Always makes me sad when a player announces their retirement or intensions to do so....but this guy has squeezed every ounce out of his game. A legend in my eye!!

With all due respect, I don’t include team sports in that conversation, they can get help on their “off days.” They need to rely on others…
I love these discussions, my tennis bias, would have him at the head of that table right now.
Sue Barker, what a LEGEND!! Thanks for contributing to so many great memories
@Wimbledon
You are knitted into the fabric of this event for me. You will be missed… 🎤
The sad thing about the Rublev incident was
1) The ball was IN…🤦🏼
2) He would have mostly likely only got a warning had he vented from the baseline (you can’t get in an official’s face like that)
He has apologised and owned what he did and said.
Hawkeye Live 2025! All events.
Some thoughts from PS on Novak’s achievements…. "What Novak Djokovic has done over the past 10 years is a clear sign that he is the greatest of all time" - Pete Sampras
Tsitsipas wants the environment to be as calm and non combative as possible, it suits his frame of mind to play his best tennis. Nick wants the exact opposite for him to perform at his best. He loves the chaos/circus. At the end of the day, it’s down to the umpire to manage…
Tsitsipas: There is no other player that does this. There is no other player that is so upset and frustrated all the time with something. I really hope all us players can come up with something and make this a cleaner version of our sport, have this kind of behavior not tolerated
A lot of players hitting more volleys in this
#Lockdown
than in their entire career. I’m liking this a lot!! I think Serve & Volley may be back by the US Open. S&V baby...
That’s the best tennis I’ve seen Zverev play in a Major. The mental effort is such an important factor in the win tonight too, given what happened at the end of the 3rd. Never seen him so calm throughout such a big match. Calm=Key
@AustralianOpen
Firstly I can’t believe Damian didn’t see that serve was out, but secondly, Medvedev could not believe the ball wasn’t called out hence no reaction until it was too late. Umpire got that horribly wrong on two fronts.
FAA = Complete Player
1) Slice is so natural looking
2) Did you see that volley to win 2nd game of 2nd set!!??🙈🙈 3) Great serve. 4) Great return 5) Great athlete
18 games to 14 in the Keys vs Sabalenka SF… is the biggest game differential you can have (in 2/3 sets) and still lose the match. 🤦🏼
I often say, the person who invented the scoring system in tennis, is either a genius or the devil in disguise!! 06 76 76.
@usopen
Raducanu in good hands with Nigel Sears. A brilliant coach, so much experience on the woman’s tour with different players. It’s so important to have a good team around you from early on…
I asked 4
@LaverCup
spectators on my flight out of Geneva what their 3 best things about the event were:
1) The shortened format (hands down the most popular aspect. I also think all team competitions should employ it...)
2) Camaraderie of the players
3) Atmosphere
If you’ve never watched Djokovic live, you might not appreciate how hard he can hit the ball, especially his BH. It’s such easy-power, it’s deceiving…my gosh it’s pure! Good contest developing….
ITF to introduce a new rule prohibiting a player, who’s won the same major 12 times, from ever playing that again...
#NewRule
#GiveTheOthersAChance
🙈🙈🙈😜. It’s mind boggling!! (Not the rule...)

Incredible to see... again! One of the most spectacular and unusual tennis matches we have seen in a while. 📍 Liguria, Italy 🇮🇹

This is a better view of the Brooksby incident. 2 scenarios for a default (per a Supervisor)
1) The contact, even if unintentional, creates a serious injury.
2) If the act is intentional. So let’s say a player tried hit a ball at the umpire, but missed, that’s a default.
Rafa’s backhand chip lob is so bloody good it’s not even funny! He gets it perfectly over the backhand side (of right handers) and the depth is spot on. So annoying/frustrating to play against as his opponent.
Just watched back Davydenko vs Delp, ATP Finals, final…Those years were peak ND. His footwork and ability to change direction was a joke!! 1st serve regularly between 123-125mph 👀. Loved watching him play. (Loving the new
@TennisTV
layout!! 👊🏻)
Darren Cahill had great success with AA back in the day, and now having an impact with AA here…Couldn’t be more happy for Amanda. It was just a matter of time…
@AustralianOpen
Great story today in Perth at
@UnitedCupTennis
as 803rd ranked, 18yr old, Steafanos Sakellaridis, achieves the biggest win of his career over Bergs…SS with only 3 racquets here (No sponsored racquets), all 3 butt caps were loose, coming off…
Congratulations to one of the toughest, hardest working guys on tour, Roberto Bautista Agut, who will become a “Top Tenner” on Monday!!
