Lovely moment on Saturday when we found the programme for Paddy’s first ever St Pat’s game - a 1948 Leinster Senior Cup semi-final v Shamrock Rovers. And he could tell us about every one of the starting XI too! A Bulfin Utd and Pat’s man with a great family legacy at the Saints
@HistoryStPats @CultureDateD8 @PatronSaints @stpatsfc Delighted that my Dad Paddy was able to see the programme from his first Pats match in 1948 v Rovers in the LSC

One of the most famous goals in Irish football history; Ronnie Whelan Snr of @stpatsfc scores the winner for the LOI XI v the English Football League at Dalymount in 1963. Several of the visitors would win the 1966 World Cup but here they were humbled by Ronnie et al. More ⬇️
