Hawks Film Room Ep 74 is live 👇 Discussed: - Dyson's driving ability - Onyeka's offensive malleability - Jalen + NAW's ancillary contributions on a rough shooting night & Asa Newell's important role going forward considering the shift in Quin's rotations.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but this year's Spurs team is averaging more isolations per 100 possessions (20.3) than any Spurs team in the tracking era, spanning the last 13 seasons. OKC is averaging 22.3, which ranks 8th in the league this season.

still think it's a big positive that 52.7% of his HC 2FGA are at the rim plus he's certainly improved as a finisher, particularly through contact and with his off-hand worth monitoring if both the initial advantage AND the finishing continues to be screen-reliant though

LaBaron Philon is testing just how much I value "organized" rim finishing from a guard 33% of his HC FGA are @ the rim BUT so many of his makes come out of screening actions w/ a sizable portion featuring Gortat screens clearing the lane + rollers/poppers holding the help

basketball games are more than just 1 lineup but i’m #intrigued by the rotations tonight this is the 1st time since Nov 18th (Vit started) where the Hawks did not field a Keaton/Kennard/Krejci lineup that trio has logged minutes in virtually every games since Trae’s injury

The Hawks’ 4th most frequent lineup — featuring the notorious trio of Keaton Wallace, Luke Kennard & Vit Krejci — is officially one of the worst lineups in the NBA Keaton/Luke/Vit/Mo G/OO get outscored by -22.8 points per 100, the 4th worst mark among qualifying lineups*

the lineup mentioned below typically makes its' appearance at the end of the 1st OR the beginning of the 2nd Quin opted to close the 1st Q with NAW in place of Keaton, he's starting the 2nd with Keaton/Luke/Zacch/Asa/Onyeka Staggering + experimentation i like it

I asked Quin Snyder whether the Hawks’ uptick in % of possessions with all 5 starters on the floor is due to a change in his coaching philosophy

.@wemby said that he'd always get more blocks than he allowed dunks. I thought I'd give him a running tally. This is Blocks v Dunks. Select any player in the last 6 seasons, and you'll get three playlists with their blocks, dunks received, and contested shots. Link below!

That makes sense to me given the roster attrition, but we’re getting to a point where the starters haven’t been dominant enough and the Krejci/Kennard/Krejci lineup has been massively detrimental there needs to be more experimentation with the bench lineups imo

*Min 100 poss This is directly correlated to Snyder’s philosophy shift that imo has been mandated by the injuries/lack of reliable bench contributors (more thoughts in quoted video) Still a small sample but given the ORTG is so low despite shooting well + the intrinsic
