Great thread on threats to the security of all Internet comms from misguided police demands. As usual @JuliaAngwin nails it. Her NYT piece "If law enforcement has reason to suspect us, they should get a search warrant," not leave all users open to attack.

Bravo @random_walker and @schneierblog. While there are specific cases where I think public ledgers offer unique benefits for accountability (ie work with @GoldwasserShafi et al on preventing unwarranted surveillance the rest is way oversold.
I agree with Bruce Schneier (@schneierblog) that blockchain has so far proven useless. Worse, it's proven a costly distraction to people and communities who are trying to solve real problems.
