I honestly can’t name a single sitting member in Congress who comes out of deep union organizing the way we need. Congress is entirely run by career politicians, lawyers, and consultants so @claireforny running is historic and refreshing for us union organizers.

If true, this would represent a grave act of war-and-aggression. There is no casus belli for us to bomb another country and abduct its leader. I don’t know what’s worse—the fact that a sitting president didn’t even bother presenting one, or that there isn’t one.

And we recognize that no community is defined by its worst actors, and no faith belongs to those who weaponize it. Antisemitism fractures movements, endanger innocent lives, and undermines alliances that are essential to fighting colonialism in all its forms.

As a Muslim, I feel a responsibility to speak clearly and without hesitation to condemn this violence. Not because we are beng asked to prove ourselves, but because we know — deeply — what persecution looks like. We know what it means to be blamed for the actions of individuals.

The Mass shooting in Sydney Australia targeting a celebration of Channukah is horrifying. Any act of violence is a moral failure — full stop. There is no political grievance, no religious identity, no lived pain that can ever justify the targeting of civilians.

If you care about safety, you fight actual violence and hate—not target an entire faith community to score political points.

This is vile, unconstitutional scapegoating. Calling for the expulsion or “denaturalization” of Muslims is collective punishment and religious persecution—full stop. NYC is home to Muslims who are nurses, teachers, small business owners, parents, and neighbors. They belong here.
