For all interested in starting with open-source and also contributing to a package for a longer time: This was more irony - but some advice: Pick a package you use "daily" - check open issues, check codebase for possible improvements AND subscribe to it. https://t.co/ceRMErFUm7
Can I hire an intern to care for all the @dependabot PRs in the @astrotomic_oss repositories? 🤔🤯😂 Applications to gummibeer@astrotomic.info 🙈

ElevenLabs released a bunch of UI components for working with audio. I modified the waveform visualizer to display the speakers in different colours based on transcript data Beauty of shadcn type installs, just jump in a modify the code directly

Hey @jbrooksuk, will the ability to create Laravel Forge sites without a repo cone back? I had to create two sites completely manually and standalone also with certbot CLI as they were just nginx proxies to go & python apps on ports. 🤔

Where can we bet on when Cursor will go out of business? Their previous valuation was $9.9 billion. Completely unjustified. And they're cutting value of their plans which means the pricing was never sustainable. What is their moat? Most people are moving to Claude Code now.

"A calculator app? Anyone could make that." Not true. A calculator should show you the result of the mathematical expression you entered. That's much, much harder than it sounds. What I'm about to tell you is the greatest calculator app development story ever told.

@serengil @astrotomic_oss Oh, and thanks to Herd by @beyondcode it was also easy to make five desktop machines queue workers. 🥳

Running Deepface by @serengil using @astrotomic_oss php adapter on a growing but so far close to a million images and videos. 🙈 Worst part is the initial manual tagging and defining thresholds and picking the best performing model. 🤯 https://t.co/MH86uO8Ifh

I absolutely love how easy it is to spawn new queue worker machines with @laravelforge and @hetznercloud keeping them in sync with a central redis and @laravelphp horizon. 🚀 And before you ask what I need multiple queue servers for: face detection, analysis and recognition. 🎊

There is a business owner “class of problem.” These are problems that no employee knows about. I have a friend who is exploring buying the business he works for. He is the core operator, the owner’s right hand man. My friend asks: “you think I can do it?” “Do what?” Him:

It’s an absolute masterpiece of a package and I love to use it for video handling and manipulation. So much easier to use than some laravel process with hsrdcoded bash template strings.

It monitors your hardware by default but can also monitor software like nginx, PostgreSQL, MySQL, redis, php-fpm and so on. It has built in anomaly detection, so when a metric is off but not that much to trigger a 80% CPU load alert. And you can easily correlate metrics.

Have to disagree. An application shouldn’t monitor itself and PHP is definitely not the best way to monitor a server as it adds additional load. @netdatahq really monitors everything on an extremely small footprint and also works when you’ve broken your application.
🔥The Spatie laravel-health package is one of the easiest ways to start monitoring your servers and Laravel apps. The package can check: - CPU load - Disk space utilization - Database connectivity - Redis - And even query speed 🧵 Keep Reading
