As someone of the centre left I’m so sad to see so few centre left politicians call this out. At the very least mean spirited, divisive and achieves nothing. And driven at least in some part for some people by anti semitism. And there’s another term for antisemitism. Racism.
If @DubCityCouncil axe the name Herzog from the park in Rathgar, it will go down as a decision of extraordinary pettiness and cruelty. It achieves nothing but hurt among Dublin’s tiny Jewish community, who are blameless in all this. Government should step in here @JamesBrowneTD

I grieve the suffering of Palestinian civilians, including children, and condemn without reservation the violence in Gaza and the brutal policies being applied by Israel. I condemn the genocide and stand with victims, humanity, and demand accountability and justice. At the same

Strong, clear and to the point, isn't that what we always say we want from politicians? Interesting to see who is sharing it and calling it moronic.
Former Finnish PM Sanna Marin put it bluntly: “To end the conflict, Russia must leave Ukrainian territory.” Just one point. Nothing more to discuss.

More of this please. We all get it wrong all the time. Good to acknowledge and good for people to agree you can be a professional/good person and make mistakes.

It's such a strength to see politicians who didn't support, in some cases vehemently opposed President Connolly's candidacy, publicly welcome/celebrate her inauguration. What we would give to see the same level of respect in the USA.

If you are an Irish citizen, I have bad news for you, Catherine Connolly is the President of your country. I did not support her, but she is my country’s President. I have contempt for people indulging in this ‘not my President’ nonsense. Our people have made their choice.

Reported on @VirginMediaNews earlier: Ivan Yates, Terry Prone, Anton Savage, Mandy Johnston and Lucinda Creighton all set to be invited to Oireachtas Media Cmte this month for discussion on how commentators/broadcasters can be more transparent on possible conflicts of interest

Right wing being right wing and left wing chasing the ‘purist’ vote on migration. Neither is helpful to migrants.

She withdrew the proposal after consultation. She listened and responded.
@EmmaCDeSouza As minister she put forward a proposal to means test disabled people and faced protesters for months until she eventually dropped it She had the audacity to ask for praise for dropping the bill That’s most of the reason why she lost the election

Some interesting stuff in the @collision article at weekend. Wouldn't agree 100%, but good to see some actual thinking going on. Would be good to see some of those knocking it totally putting same effort into thinking out loud.

Tells you all you need to know about Wallace. A darling of state controlled media in 🇨🇳 & 🇷🇺. Bottom line, the electorate believed he didn’t represent their interests and gave him the order of the boot.
