Fun project led by @DavidTresp with DFT by Tim Schramm (Grimme Lab) now published. Satisfying to see DFT data agreeing so well with expt (most < 1 kcal/mol!). New dimensions in PCET thermochem unlocked with Cpᴺ³ and Fe. Thx to all other collaborators! 😄.

Super busy summer for PhD defenses - Lirong Lin (holding the blue bubbly!) recently defended her thesis titled "Using Diamondoid Pincer Ligands and C(sp3)-H Activation Models at Group 10 Transition Metals." . All very the very best in the next stages of your career! #ProudPI 🙂

How is this “a viable alternative to the Haber–Bosch process for producing ammonia” if the nitrate runoff is coming from the Haber-Bosch process in the first place? Am I missing something here?. “a viable process for scavenging unused ammonia” makes more sense to me.
As the technique works with works with water containing realistic concentrations of nitrate, it's believed that it could provide a viable alternative to the Haber–Bosch process for producing ammonia.

Really proud of PhD #3, David Tresp . Not only is he a fine researcher, but he’s our de facto handyman. Glove boxes, pumps, crystallography, voltammetry, synthesis, and many more impressive talents under his belt. Congrats!!! 🥳
