Wonderful building, not only for its architecture but for the sories, resilience and capacity to adapt and rise like the Phoenix. #developnotdemolish @SaveCQBelfast Images @photojoe2 and Aisling Madden

Apparently the public wants the Belfast Stories building to be "as equally exciting" architecturally, as the former Bank of Ireland was when built in 1930. Off course it was inspired by the Art Deco style of that era, whereas who knows WTF has inspired Belfast Stories design

The "coincidental" midnight demolition, Nov 2016 of 3 about-to-be-listed buildings on the North St site 'ES North St' sold to BCC for the now proposed #BelfastStories centre..the true #story of the bulldozed heritage should be centre stage in the narrative

Meaningless box ticking public consultation on #BelfastStories is now open. https://t.co/VaDFoXdIsG What we'd really like to know is How much BCC paid McAleer & Rushe for the site. And who sanctioned the demolitions prior to purchase.

@Belfast_Rubble @SaraONeillArt @UlsterUni Many staff didn't want it demolished either. Worst stain on Uni of Ulster's history & of course waved through by Belfast City Council. A scandal...perfectly intact & functioning building for the Art School sacrificed, destroying our city design & history💔

Ten years ago, October 2015, and Belfast still had the Orpheus, but only just. Sadly, Belfast's built heritage didn't align with how @UlsterUni wanted to portray themselves and its doubtful few if any of their present students know what used to stand there

A momentous day for built heritage in the Cathedral Quarter. Still a long way to go, but we're taking a minute to celebrate this milestone and thank everyone who made it happen 👏

1/ At the top of Belfast’s #OrmeauRoad toward #Forestside. You’ll pass through an area called ‘Galwally’ it’s from the Irish ‘An Gallbhaile’ meaning the 'foreigners' townland' this marked the location of Anglo-Norman John de Courcy's fortified #Motte at Belvoir Forest Park.

We are so excited to reveal the newly refurbished cast-iron pillar on Linenhall St - which turns out to be an Edwardian-era tram section pillar related to Belfast's old electrified tram network. It highlights a lovely and underappreciated part of the District's history.

Amazing what a professional metalwork cleaner with the right tools can do 😃😃 This is the original 100+ years old Belfast Corporation plaque on the Linenhall St pillar restored to its former glory. More to come in the next few days...

Taking this heritage asset into public ownership is brilliant news to be strongly welcomed. It is one of the oldest buildings in Belfast, dating to 1769 and the scene of some of Belfast's most iconic social history. It was subsequently remodelled by Charles Lanyon in 1845 for the

Where are Belfast granite kerbs going? UAH have received numerous calls and emails over the last few months about roadworks that have removed Belfast's granite kerbs and replaced with inferior concrete products which decay quicker and have a massive carbon footprint.
