I share my story hoping it helps others feel seen. In times of physical stress, my mental illness flares up, so I have been dealing with a heart condition & a mental health crisis. It's all so small compared to the world's pain, but I hope my words bring light to others. I hope.

When I was a medical student in Manchester I developed a devastating mental health condition triggered by the trauma of the 2006 conflict in Lebanon, poverty, accommodation & food insecurity & being far removed from my loved ones. The symptoms were so severe I was forced to

My interview with the legendary @Khairykj in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We spoke about how traumatic memories can haunt us like a ghost & that we can carry these wounds wherever we go. Although we may not recover entirely, transmuting trauma can help drive us to achieve our goals.

Make no mistake, the chest pain associated with a panic attack is no less excruciating & no less debilitating than the chest pain associated with a heart attack. Both demand the highest level of care & compassion.

This is so true. #burnoutisreal Stepping back to rest, repair and heal can be life-saving. We all deserve it.
Stop glorifying the person who keeps going and going. Even when they’re sick, stressed, or going through grief. True strength is in the ability to take a step back so your body can repair and your emotions can process.

So I’m back in England & I just opened a package containing the latest copies of my book! I’m super excited! I can’t deny it, I’m really emotional. It hasn’t been easy. Leaving my parents behind in Lebanon when I was 17 & coming to England. Working 70 hours a week to survive.

Next week my book ‘Breakthrough’ will be released. I think about the barriers, disadvantage, adversity, discrimination & trauma I had to overcome & I still can’t believe it. This is a book for the underdog, the outcast, the misfit, the persons who were excluded & not invited, the

This man @ahmedhankir has been a godsend to me. His posts have carried me through so much, and he has made me feel like I have permission for self-care and self-love. His compassion and heart are huge. I’m buying this book and I recommend you do too! Congratulations Prof Ahmed!
‘I was only 17. I had just left my parents behind in Lebanon and arrived in the UK. I don’t think I had the emotional resilience and maturity to manage and cope with the circumstances that I was in. And I didn’t have any support, formal/professional, informal or otherwise. I had
