I have never forgotten telling man after man in cell after cell how long they would get in prison for the 2011 London riots. Once enthusiasm for lobbing bins at police has waned, once your pals have been arrested, once the booze & adrenaline subside - you realise. Then regret.

Dear @EastMidRailway this train (Ldn - Sheffield) is disgraceful. Every seat taken, every standing space taken, scores sitting in mid train corridors so I guess 500 people on it and ONLY ONE WORKING TOILET at one end, so people must crawl over each 100s to reach it. It's

Saw #jezbutterworth new play @HOCThePlay Fight for a ticket…absolutely magnificent. Pitch perfect stellar cast, beautifully directed, magnificent performance from Laura Donnelly (Olivier Award sewn up right there) and the writing is just stunning….theatre at its very best! 👏🔥

Drama should as Toby Jones says be at the centre of political change. I’ve seen dramas about Brexit - even Rupert Murdoch - in recent years where writers have talked about putting ‘both sides of the story.’ Great dramatists are always on the side or right.
