@DrJingLiu @ShyamoliSanghi @StanfordEd @TeachFX However, the impact of the feedback did not trickle down to other teaching practices, and teachers reported lack of time and support to take full advantage of feedback. We describe promising areas for future work to extend and deepen the impact of such tools! ๐ŸŽฏ.

@DrJingLiu @ShyamoliSanghi @StanfordEd @TeachFX We tested the impact of automated feedback on focusing questions with 224 Utah math and science teachers in brick-and-mortar classrooms. After just a few times of receiving feedback, treated teachers increased their use of focusing questions by 20% (p<0.01).

Honored that our work on supporting high-quality math tutoring with AI got cited in the Economic Report of the President! ๐ŸŽ‰ Hope we will see more widespread application of tools that seek to empower teachers, not replace them. Kudos to @rose_e_wang!

AI has the potential to transform real-world domains. But can AI actually improve outcomes in live interactions?. We conducted the first large-scale intervention of a Human-AI Approach that has statistically significant positive learning gains w/ 900 tutors & 1,800 K12 students.
