News of the day--at the Kentucky State Fair in the brownie competition, with 37 entries, they refused to award a first or third place. Only a 2nd place, sparking furor--.

I decided that poem by Stanley Kunitz wasn't really that good, compared to contemporary poems by ppl like Keetje Kuipers, to pull one name out of huge bucket of writers some I read on here all the time. my bad.

I read a lot of women's poetry, bcse otherwise, there wouldn't be much to read. This is excellent, ultra compressed, powerful stuff.

I'm going to repost this, in case there's someone who hasn't read this poem. It's easy to pick my favorite dark poem. However, I could never pick a favorite poem of light (not same as light poem). It could be something by Mary Oliver, Gary Snyder, or a poem I just read. .
