The @NovaClassical boys finished 4th in the @MSHSL State Class A Cross Country Championships today! Benaiah finished 10th individually & Isabel finished 4th individually in the girls Championship! 6 out of the 8 Nova runners ran PRs today!

Kind of a wacky meet this year with a shortened course due to a hornet’s nest & girls called off the course mid-race due to a storm but the @NovaClassical boys took care of business in the 28 team field.

And then when it was windy the chalk blew so the lines blurred.
Also, when I was in high school, the coaches and AD had to chalk our cinder track when we hosted a meet. I can’t imagine how long that took.

Puma has a new shoe that's supposed to be 3.5% faster than Nike's shoe that was 4% faster than other shoes. Bill Rodgers did this wearing a couple of pancakes on his feet.
Let's recall the very late stages as Bill Rodgers comes to the finish line to clinch a third, convincing, win in a PB and CR of 2h09:27 over the Boston Marathon in mid April 1979

Celebrating Women's History in GW Athletics: Hall of Fame Inductee Megan Hogan cemented her place as a two-time All-American before competing professionally. She also finished the Boston Marathon in 2:42.00 to earn a U.S. Olympic Trials qualifying time. #RaiseHigh

In 8th grade I was going out for football until a teacher told me, “You should go out for cross country, you might be good at it.” At that point in my life, telling me I could be good at something was all it took. I’m grateful for that teacher, my first CC coach, at his passing.
