Ulrike Meyfarth at just 16 years of age when she won her first of two Olympic titles over an equal WR, doubling as a WJR, and OR of 1.92 in the HJ in Munich in early September 1972. Of course, there were no official WJRs at the time.

Arguably better than her SB of 22.17 in Memphis (1.2) in mid July and she picked up a few other notable scalps in the process. She was also a close runner-up to Shericka Jackson in 22.21 to 22.17 (SB) in Silesia (-0.3) four days earlier.

Nice win for Olympic bronze Brittany Brown, her first in a final race this season, from the middle in 22.23 over Favour Ofili in 22.31 and Marie Josée Ta Lou-Smith in 22.37 (SB) over 200m on a wet track and into a headwind (-0.5) in Lausanne yesterday
