I can't emphasize how EXCITED I am about this announcement. This the first step in a massive project that will transform what it means to travel by train from one coast to another! The early renders are very inspiring and offer even more windows!

My thoughts: ouch. It's okay not to commit, but the extend of dodging the question and what sounded like some back tracking on various points is annoying to say the least. November 18 is when we'll get a date, and that opening likely won't be the same day, nor week.

Today, an update on O-Train Lines 2 and 4 shared progress towards substantial completion, approvals, & certification. While no launch date was set, we’re expecting more details in a briefing during the week of Nov 18. When service begins, it will start with a soft launch approach

Today's update on the status of Line 2 and Line 4. To me, it reads as a minimum of 3 weeks from today, while using language to make it clear it will "likely" be more. What are your thoughts? Are we still on track for November 2024?

As far as I am aware, it is the only outlet saying that A) Cadence is the winning consortium and B) An announcement in the week of November 11. We’ll see if other sources corroborate it, but interesting development if true!

According to CBC Radio-Canada the government is likely to commit to the 300 km/h version of VIA HFR, but the contract award might be delayed until spring. We need to get on with investing in passenger rail, not just talking about it! #viarail [In French] https://t.co/vCbGwvYz8z

We might be getting fast AND frequent! And apparently the proposals are cheaper than originally expected by the government. Now we wait for an official announcement...

People complain high speed rail will cost billions High speed rail means we’re don’t spend billions expanding airports by releasing this capacity on terminals and runways for these short hop flights.
