The location of this horrific incident is in a Community Safety Zone, where automated speed enforcement could be installed, that is proven to reduce driver speeding, that may have prevented this horror.

But look here’s another six minutes later. That’s what our policy-based services — Ten Minute Network, Six Minute Subway, and with the 5YSP Six Minute Streetcar — is all about.

It’s quite an imagination moment thinking how much more the eastern waterfront would be if all those underpasses were built to plan.
Jun 17, 1925: work finally begins on the Toronto Grade Separation, or Waterfront Railway Viaduct as it is more commonly known. The construction cost was estimated at $28.5 million. There had been no agreement over who would pay this cost until November 1924. 1/3

These were placed on subway platforms five years ago to remind us to keep our distance as we faced a challenging time - spotted one today and it’s now a reminder that we gotta stick together.

Will note that six minute streetcar service is part of TTC’s 5-Year Service Plan for 2024-2028 in years 4 and 5. This year’s budget has advanced its implementation for late this year on three routes - 505 Dundas, 511 Bathurst, and 512 St Clair before 7pm every day.
"The problem, as with most services in the city, is money, @larrylarry said. With the TTC’s existing streetcar fleet, he explained, the city could run five-minute service throughout Toronto — if it had the money to pay drivers." https://t.co/M33plbpFyB

That’s the painful part. All politics seems singular in dimensions. Intersectionality is key. No one is just one thing.

Identity politics is the worst as as a multidimensional minority and none of the targeting reflects who I am. This sucks.

People complain high speed rail will cost billions High speed rail means we’re don’t spend billions expanding airports by releasing this capacity on terminals and runways for these short hop flights.

It’s not just about commutes. Bike lanes also facilitate safe workplaces for food delivery workers who have kept our main street restaurants in business. These are your constituents.
The 1.2 per cent of people who commute by bike shouldn’t be clogging primary roads for the over 70 per cent of people who drive. It’s just common sense.

Imagine how much it’d cost to build a parking garage to store the same number of cars.
