Watching Musk and Zuckerberg use their vast power to destroy what’s left of a fact-based information ecosystem, I can’t help but think back to the pushback I received for warning of this two years ago on CNN.

Wow. @JoeNBC and Mika just delivered long speeches about what happened yesterday with @davidfrum, taking great issue with his piece that called them fearful. They went on to address their meeting with Trump & the subsequent criticism & they called for fearless anti-Trump

In fact, the Post was more economically vulnerable to presidential retribution. Compare the stalwart reporters and editors of the Post to the MSNBC cable-news worms of today for a snapshot of media moral decline.

. But the Washington Post didn’t go on bended knee to Key Biscayne to kiss Nixon’s ring. It kept publishing the Watergate stories that would ultimately force him to resign. And the Post had the same local-TV-station-licensing vulnerability then that NBC does.

Some context for MSNBC’s Joe and Mika crawling to Mar-a-Lago: In 1972, Richard Nixon enjoyed a more overwhelming victory over his Democratic opponent than Trump did this month.
