1/4 A few years ago I took Andrea on my David Bowie Walking Tour of London which ends at the Ship pub, just a few steps from Trident Studio where the Ziggy Stardust album was recorded. I've whiled away quite a few hours at that bar over the years, but this visit was special.

My review for #TheFantasticFourFirstSteps: “The Fantastic Four: First Steps isn’t about the spectacle. Sure, there’s a humungous villain who makes the Statue of Liberty look like a Lego minifig, but that’s there simply to act as a delivery system for a story about community, hope

My review of #OhHi!: "A rom com that shifts gears to become a darkly playful psychological thriller, Oh, Hi! is a story about extreme relationship anxieties, but there’s a playful tone to it, even when it’s rooted in pain." Read the review here:

My review of #Eddington: "Director Ari Aster swings for the fences in 'Eddington,' and even if he doesn’t score a home run in recreating the chaos of the early pandemic, the film is as provocative as it is unsettlingly entertaining." Read the whole review here:

My review of #Smurfs: "'Smurf’s' scattershot hodgepodge of music, gentle mayhem, intergenerational humour and good messages may leave you feeling blue, just not in the way the filmmakers intended." Read the whole review here:

My review for #IKnowWhatYouDidLastSummer2025: "'I Know What You Did Last Summer’s' mid-credit scene is a rarity. In two or three minutes it sets the movie up for a sequel and is more entertaining than the movie that came before it." Read the whole review here:

Do you like dive bars as much as I do? If so, check this out: “One of our bartenders swept up an eyeball one time.”
