I was just on the Victoria Line, and the man sitting next to me was quite literally smoking crack cocaine, trying to hide it under a blanket. I saw the pipe, the lighter, and then he started aggressively tweaking out right there. This is what Britain has become. Broken.

Yeah well I dislike that the only inducement offered me is that AI is "inevitable" and so I better get on side if I want to, uhh, have been on the right, like, side of something that, uhh, destroys everything I love...
I dislike that the default left/liberal position is anti AI now. wildly shortsighted for an inevitable technology shift.

I just think this joke relies too heavily on the idea people often distort or exagerrate their dead, when actually the cliche suggests basically everyone has this ability in the right context and when they need to be remembered well some instance of it is always available

No, YOU miss the point. If you are not paying a worker enough to live, someone else is. If you are not paying a worker enough to live, your business is being subsidised by that 'someone else.' You seem able to view this only from the narrow viewpoint of your own finances.
@raphaeldogg You're missing the point. Why would I pay £10.85 to a 18 year old with no experience of the role, of working, of life. I can pay £12.71 for someone 29 years old with all this already built in There is no incentive for a business to put the time and effort into training up youth

I don't know a single person who has an active interest in politics in the Islamic world or Muslim diasporas who thinks Mamdani is an Islamist. TBH it's such an absurd statement that when someone makes it I assume they don't know what they're talking about.
Mamdani is an Islamist. So he hates Catholics. And Protestants. And Jews. And Hindus. And everyone else who is not an Islamist. His faith teaches him that infidels exist to be conquered. People prefer to deny that bitter reality. But denial will become increasingly difficult.
