I’ve been doing a lot of lesson planning work lately. Despite a lot of filling out lesson templates in teacher prep, the core skill of the basic lesson, where all the components are coordinated, doesn’t seem to be taught to mastery. Coherence = so important.

Take Louisiana. @doelouisiana uses a three-tier system to vet curricula, with 'Teacher Leader Advisors' evaluating materials and leading training programs. It's paying off, as LA fourth graders were top five in the nation for math growth on the 2024 NAEP.
