One year ago my dear friend
@ThatAldenDiaz
and I teamed up to make the episode I’ve been trying to make since I first started talking into a microphone. I stand by and am incredibly proud of the 2 parter we made.
Part 1:
Part 2:
If you want to play the realism game let’s stay consistent, boo.
Lightsaber wound cauterizes the blood due to the heat.
Sabine got immediate medical attention.
Indara was stabbed through the chest with a fucking kunai and left to bleed out 1/3
Oh and the most important thing: it’s pretend and death/near death experiences are narrative devices used to set stakes and show the danger and the personal growth of these characters.
3/3
The bar she was attacked in had a mass exodus because of Mae beating the shit out of everyone so there’s really nobody there to help her.
Also this is a crisp 150 years before Ahsoka, Bacta was a relatively new tech at this time so even if she got help, it’s iffy

For the folks trying to make the argument that a lightsaber wound would boil you from the inside: yes.
I’m saying that the way the lightsaber is depicted and shown is consistently not doing that.
There’s sound in space, use the logic of the world, it’s not a physics class
@slidesoul
In what way is the lightsaber less lethal? The prequels are full of people taking blows from sabers and surviving. There are a handful of people who survive a lightsaber wound in the new canon and are given reason to have survived.
This is deeply silly.
Victor Wembanyama is a huge
#StarWars
fan
• First purchase with his first NBA check was reportedly a $850 Millennium Falcon LEGO set
• Favorite Star Wars film is
#RevengeOfTheSith
•
#EmpireStrikesBack
is in his top 3 films
• Doesn't count the Sequel Trilogy as Star Wars
I’m well aware it doesn’t make sense. But in “Light of the Jedi” it’s explained that the reason the lightsaber is the weapon of choice of the Jedi is because you can exact a precise level of damage on an enemy. Never more than what you want.
“Sam Witwer is in the credits therefore Marrok is Galen Marek”
My brother in Christ he’s also the Shoretrooper that stops and frisks Cassian Andor and is a stormtrooper in EVERYTHING talking about speeders. Stop.
This week on
#ObiWanKenobi
they managed to take requests from all over the spectrum of Star Wars fan and made it work as a (as one wise man would say) tapestry of pain and hope. I am without words. This is my favorite episode of Star Wars TV.
@petercoffin
I mean the political left in America basically has Sanders & the Squad so seeing them all throw elbows for the working class and being the only folks who even remotely resemble our views is inspirational. Now here’s Bernie on the Jedi Council
@JohnOne919984
The man laid languishing with a plasma burn through his heart and lungs for 10-15 min while Maul and Obi duked it out. Sabine got a bacta patch and treatment in that time.
You are wrong.
Literally Star Wars Theory and Joe Rogan are on the same arc of being the most mainstream element of a fringe group of weirdos getting radicalized further and further by their own weirdo buddies. It’s literally the same mf.
The embarrassing “trust me guys it’s happening” is just, painful.
One day KK is going to retire and it’s going to be celebrated like a dragon was slain by the most pathetic people on the internet.
He is the biggest SW YouTuber because he plays games of telephone with books that I’m not fully convinced he’s read to give watered down cliff notes about fights and badass dialogue devoid of context.
Man is the word “hack” incarnate.
There is so much discourse comparing these scenes and so much of it is rooted in this strange inability to appreciate the fact that these are creative decisions being made deliberately about who lives, who dies, and what narrative function these scenes serve
🧵
This really depresses me. The Star Wars fandom really allowed the worst of us to become our spokespeople.
I see near universal praise and excitement for Ahsoka and yet the usual suspects are the voices that rise to the top and keep our fandom impenetrable.
It Was All a Dream, I Used to Read Wizard Magazine
I’m a casual Star Wars fan. My knowledge is nowhere like MCUs. Seeing how the Star Wars community reacted to
#Ahsoka
makes me glad I’m not into it more. Honestly that was the most Star Wars shit I’ve seen on yrs. Lightsabers, dog fights, droids and aliens. Dafuq else do you want?
Date men who say the following:
How are you?
What happened today?
Enjoy your night out.
Don't be afraid I feel it too.
You're nothing. You're no one...but not to me.
You need a teacher! I can show you the ways of the Force!
But I do.
Date Ben Solo.
I want to make something clear:
Dislike what you dislike. Idc. It’s absurd, nonsensical, dog whistling complaints that should be called out. POC and women are his problem, not the stories.
I often call attention to the parallels to the “mainstream” alt-right internet influencers and the fandom ones and just like the InfoWars v QAnon fall out, Theory and Mr. Cock is playing out exactly the same way.
Over the last year and some change and some soul searching I’ve come to the realization that I’m bisexual and have accepted this fact and embraced it. On one hand announcing this feels somewhat gratuitous as all those I hold dear were unphased by the news. 1/2
This man literally said “I only want middle aged white dudes to make the things we never got because what I imagine they were is better than what we got”
Also most of these are based on misinfo or Fandom Menace dog whistles.
Also, he paid for Twitter.
Going into the “25th Anniversary of the Prequel Trilogy” celebrations I think something needs to be clear.
You can dislike these movies without being like this.
This specific behavior is why fandom culture is so unbearably toxic
1/5
Releasing a Star Wars movie and an Avengers movie in one month makes my nerdy heart happy but the likelihood that the Avengers movie suffocates what will likely be the Rey movie scares me.
I don’t wanna offer the anti-woke crowd another Solo fallacy to claim as a W.
Idk if this is something that we as a collective on Star Wars Twitter have talked about or not but I had Solo on while I was falling asleep (clearly didn’t work) and they say they haven’t fed Chewbacca in 3 days. Chewie ate people and we don’t talk about it.
One of them won’t stfu about Legends novels they haven’t read since they were 12 clickbaitng you into thinking Star Wars is Dragon Ball Z the other hates vaccines but loves shrooms and pot and clickbaits you into wellness BS all while being an amazing gateway to the harder right
I was minding my own business at FanExpo Philly and then
@EmanEsfandi
recognized me as the “guy who’s booty at trivia”.
@quicksilvergrrl
joined in too.
@inagalaxytrivia
is ruining my life. Bummer, dude. Bummer.
My first ever pet, The Mighty Chewbacca, AKA The Butter Slut, has become one with the Force.
He lived up to his namesake in every way and his companionship is going to be missed daily.
Listen. This man has a platform. One bigger than all of us put together. There is value to forcing shitty people to put their money where their mouth is, then buckle under the smallest pressure. This is debating marginalized peoples existence as though it is hypothetical
People who hate these movies and say Rey has it easy pretend she didn’t spend the fight in TFA running away, gets fully outpaced in TLJ and gets bodied here.
Also this duel is so underrated
@StarWarsExplain
But Alex, all the other YouTubers told me that Anakin was deliberately created by Sidious and Plagueis in a novel that’s not canon using a misunderstood and debunked comic panel as evidence!
Qui-Gon Jinn must die.
You’ve heard the clip of Dave Filoni explaining the gravity of this scene and what it represents.
Simply put, there’s no story, at least not the one told in the OT, if Qui-Gon is allowed to live and be Anakin’s father and teacher.
The best part of Kenobi discourse is the obvious and predictable part where the show NOT being a 6 episode long lightsaber duel with shitty meme dialogue, flashbacks to (checks notes) child murder, and DBZ logic applied to the Force is pissing off exactly who we knew it would.
Ik that we as Star Wars fan have a vested interest in treating the franchise like a fictional history text we experience in real time and because of that there’s a demand for “consistency” within the lore, but the “how” has never been as important as “why”
First look at Noah Baumbach’s next film ‘WHITE NOISE’, starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig.
The film will premiere at Venice Film Festival on August 31.
Instead he must be the first time the Jedi Order fails Anakin allowing his distrust in them be born the same day he joins their ranks.
Them death of Qui-Gon Jinn is the death of Anakin Skywalker’s innocence.
Qui-Gon must die so that Darth Vader will be born.
@SWTheory66
@EckhartsLadder
Dawg you welcomed the entirety of the community into this by making a video. Why is the idea he attacked you more appealing than the idea he was being dry and defended you
@ATGcast
I can’t quite agree. Nemik hardly unstable. He’s the most level headed of that bunch. He’s observant and sees the small maybe even unintentional ways the Empire subjugates the galaxy. Anti-Fascists using violence to fight Fascists doesn’t equate them.
This man literally took the time to analyze every single youngling in frame so he could complain about there not being enough white males. This is who you’re going to for in-depth analysis and “valid” criticism?
If you can suspend your disbelief for laser swords and space wizards, you can suspend your disbelief and accept that sometimes people get stabbed then get better.
The gesture is appreciated, despite it’s obvious hollow nature.
I’ve not spoken to this man in months and it’s all because of how tactless and pathetic this behavior is.
I’m done placating and playing nice. I left a courtesy “thank you” on this tweet but I deleted it.
🧵
@therealsupes
Respectfully will say that over simplifies his turn.
The Jedi had institutional rot in its heart. The slide into self sanctimonious hypocrisy is a huge factor. Mace is endemic of that. Anakin’s trauma as a slave and inability to process loss and his possessiveness is another.
Reva, Grand Inquisitor, & Vader all embody the need to continue living to enact revenge instead of healing and growing. Obi-Wan teaches Reva to heal instead of calling on misery to keep going unlike Vader and GI.
Vader will learn one day. GI never will.
Sabine is on a rebellious streak. Against her duties and her relationships. In this behavior she disobeys Ahsoka and nearly pays with her life and in blood by Thrawn’s servants gaining the map.
It is through her allies saving her, does she get to undo this mistake
