ten years ago today, star wars returned to theaters after a year-long ad campaign that showed only a title (set in ITC SERIF GOTHIC HEAVY) and no episode number. there were only two questions on everyone's minds: would the opening crawl be there? would the fonts be the same?

Even more: pretending like the EU is one consistent story makes it LESS interesting to me. I love how different authors have clearly different opinions on story beats and analyzing how that permeates their work and choices!
People who idealize the Expanded Universe as some cohesive planned out masterfully crafted multimedia initiative are deluding themselves and don't read the text and creator commentary with their eyes open, if at all. Darth Caedus wasn't the plan in Traitor. That's nonsense.

Just finished this remarkable little book. Best one yet! The pacing is so on point, and the narrative beats all line up in the most satisfying, delightful ways. Stackpole is a master. Revisiting NJO someday after this is gonna be incredible.

None of this is trueβ it's very easy to explain why it's a 1-in-a-million shot that Holdo makes if you consider the size of the ships involved + mass shadows & hyperspace lore that's been around for decades.
A beautiful scene ruined by totally destroying all the lore in Star Wars regarding hyperspace or superweapons. It's a perfect summation of the travesty that is The Last Jedi: visually stunning but otherwise absolute trash, and, naturally, fans of it don't understand why.
