So I'll start soon. Will appreciate any interaction because I appreciate you all and I certainly appreciate these albums. Sometimes the best thing in life is to smile in silence, alone or with those we love. For every other time, let's put an album on.

Working on the list & enjoying the music felt natural and easy. Sharing it on Twitter feels self-indulgent and a little annoying, but who am I to say whether it's worthwhile or not? After all, I've never felt more certain of music's power to uplift, heal, guide - even define us.

The most interesting result was seeing some of my favorite bands miss the cut. A lot of artists have three, four, or even more albums I love, but they don't have that one, obvious, gut reaction all-time favorite. And this list is about the albums, not the artists.

I decided to not include anything newer than 2019, rewarding longevity & avoiding recency bias. Also decided one album per artist, no exceptions. I broke rules once or twice because gut feeling was the most weighed factor. If I left it to cognition, I'd never be able to pick.
