I LOVE having kids work together to count, organize, record a collection of 1,000 visually. The best part? The conversations… the connections… the relationships…the JOY! #countingcollections (Where is the (100x5)x2 in the paper clip group?) Is 10x10x10 the same as 20 x 50?

Love the thinking that is emerging from my 9 year old! She recorded all the groups she saw, then counted them by 10’s & 1’s to check. Yay for dry erase pens and sheet protectors for giving her the confidence to take a risk with her recording. #countingcollectionsathome

1/4 My 8 year old decided to #countingcollectionsathome and pulled all of her books off the shelf. She spent hours sorting through them all. The project lasted days. She is learning about fractions of a set at school and made a connection. Check out her write up. So funny!
