While photographing Orange Porecap I found a *tiny* (<1mm tall) mushroom sheltering among them on the twig. I don’t know who you are little mushroom man, but I feel a connection. Perhaps we can go steady.

On #Day2 I went on another #NewYearPlantHunt, this time with an intrepid six-year old! We spent most of our time magnifying stuff (as you do), but did manage to chalk up about 50 species.

In bang-average weather we held our fifth annual New Year Plant Hunt today in Mevagissey. 10 intrepid walkers counted 78 species, including Common Whitlowgrass, Betony, Jersey Cudweed, and a Garden Pansy in an arable field. Bosh! #NewYearPlantHunt @BSBIbotany

After scouring every sand dune for what-feels-like-forever I’ve finally found the Dune Waxcap (Hygrocybe conicoides) in a south Cornwall dune. What a beautiful creature, well worth the wait!
