Agree with most of the sentiment here except for the original poster's "do taxes." Americans shouldn't have to "do taxes." The government should do them for us.

When I graduated Florida public high school we had a to pass a life basic competency test. It had questions like filling out a check, percentages, counting money/making change, and reading/obeying street/traffic signs. In addition to a unit on "Americanism v. Communism" 🇺🇸

I love this, in part for the humanity, and in part because it agrees with my attitude that businesses should treat one another as friendly competitors, not adversaries. I made a whole talk about this. Also, I joined https://t.co/qDiVR01rZ7 18 years ago and I was already #129126.

Happy birthday @Dries! You are an everyday inspiration, not just in your words but in your actions, and the richness of the Drupal community is a reflection of that. I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Love, User #5665 on https://t.co/pfxfb1tuPD. :)

People often say entrepreneurs should find a co-founder whose virtues match, whose skills differ, and who will drive you to do your best work. But what if they turn out to be a blowhard who regurgitates right-wing idiocy while refusing accountability. I'll take my chances alone.

I guess the right thinks that this is a normal, appropriate amount of affection for a widow to express to the US President at her husband's funeral. Looks weird as hell to me.

So ... when do we get to start acknowledging again what a complete and utter shithead hater Charlie Kirk was? Because I think his murder was appalling, too, but we should never forget what a bad person he was. I propose now.

I got sucked into an anti-trans thread rooted in one of @jk_rowling's utterly deplorable, obsessive takes on trans people. So many people are worried about trans women seeing cis women undressing. Why aren't they equally worried about any person seeing another person undressing?

This is genocide denial. I used to think Brianna and I were morally aligned, but now I am sure we are not.

It’s not a genocide. It’s just a war.

It’s great to be transgender. If I were trans, that would be great. If my kids were trans, that would be great. If anybody I know and love, or don’t know and don’t love were trans, that would be great. If god were trans, wait, of course god is trans.

it's been said but it bears repeating: it is good to be transgender. if you are transgender, way to go. keep it up

Jason's sentiment here is great, and rings true with another mantra I repeat to myself: "You can screw up an infinite number of times before you succeed."

Unless you have 10,000 customers: Approximately no one knows who you are. Approximately no one knows your brand. Approximately no one knows your product. You can change everything, any time. Take advantage of that.

It does a disservice to everybody who criticized him to delete the original tweets and add one new one. If he just deleted the tweets, that's one thing. But were they true, or weren't they? Many people think they weren't, and hiding behind tweet deletion supports that notion.

I delete “the” tweet. I’m tired of explaining it and honestly the threats are getting out of hand. This could have all been cleared up with a DM but that wasn’t the route chosen. It was meant to be a little fun fact and I certainly never meant for it to get the exposure it did. I

People sometimes ask me if I’m nervous about putting all my thoughts out on the internet all the time. Isn’t it just setting myself up for criticism and attack? Yes. But I believe what I say, so I’m nervous about it at all.

This is a special time to be a working software engineer. I cannot imagine a future in which engineers don't need to understand the pre-AI era, and I cannot imagine a future in which engineers don't need to understand the post-AI era. Bask in the inheritance of pre-AI knowledge.
