In a Birmingham archives today and came across an almost Birmingham marathon designed in order to help our local runners get a shot at 1908 Olympic squad ahead of Southern runners. Coventry to West Brom ground, sponsored by Bovril! Not a runners gel or Hoka shoe in sight!
