The outcomes research and deliberate practice folks need to chill the fuck out and allow for ordinary good work and progress. If I'd referred out clients by the 7th session because we weren't making progress I'd have failed to learn from the patients who taught me the most.

Cursing is rarely a symbol of low class. It's often a mark of high authenticity. Evidence: Swearing predicts higher rates of honesty and integrity. It signals a willingness to prize candor over courtesy. A little profanity shows that you're being real and you do give a damn.

It is BPD awareness week (or it was last week depending on who you ask). While there’s no need to tell any survivors of trauma that their personality is disordered, here’s some useful things https://t.co/f7JlsYQYGy

We don’t have “better tests” for autism, we expanded the definition so much that it absorbed other conditions and personality traits. It is now a less reliable diagnosis. When someone uses the word autism, they could be talking about any number of individual difficulties.

Reflections 3 #mhnr2025 having a research conference dedicated to MHNursing feels essential for the continued development and vibrancy of our profession, and for the quality & safety of the care we provide. Yet it remains so challenging for nurses to attend….

1/ People think there’s a thing/place called “treatment” & you can send people to it and the problem of severe mental illness/homelessness is dealt with. That thing/place doesn’t exist. We defunded & dismantled our MH care institutions decades ago. There’s literally nowhere to go
