What we’ve learned in California is it’s possible to have racing with almost no catastrophic injuries. To achieve this, everyone's routine has to change. Yes change not easy & additional veterinary scrutiny can be frustrating, but this is only way to ensure future for the sport

PET scan is a game changer. This horse: v mild intermittent lameness to LF...blocked to lower limb...nothing significant on X-rays. PET scan video shows normal RF fetlock followed by LF fetlock with sesamoid activity clearly visible

Sadly we have to retire Ample Sufficiency from racing. We gave him a chance, but his old fracture will inhibit him from making it back to the races. He’s a beauty of a racehorse; his bay color and grey tail make him one of kind. Looking for a good home so DM if interested!

Racing suspended,but we continue to train & prepare horses at DB Racing. For the time being my day rate will not change as I am focused on supporting all my staff through this period. We will continue to provide top level feed and care to have the horses ready when racing resumes

From a trainer’s point of view, PET scan technology is a game changer. Sesamoid fractures are one of the most unpredictable injuries. PET scan can definitively diagnose a potential sesamoid fracture when not always visible by x-ray. All tracks should have one
