Think of how well Seth Smith is doing as a focus for Houston. Freejacks do a great job of interacting with the other Boston sports teams. You have to make this AMERICAN rugby. Those foreign players are only recognizable to already existing fans.

The high # of international players is one of the weaknesses in marketing to the future fans who've never seen rugby before. Before they folded unexpectedly, NY was doing a great job of marketing Nick Lapponnesse (sp?) as a home town hero and it was ginning up excitement.
Have to wonder if this forces MLR to reconsider its international player policy. All of a sudden there are significantly less opportunities for domestic talent. 10 out of 23 allowed to be non-🇺🇸/🇨🇦-eligible as it stands (not counting trades). Does that number now drop?.
