Obvs people going to watch football aren't putting themselves at the same risks as our armed forces personnel do. But thats not to say we haven't seen awful, unspeakable things. Last season I visited Grimsby.

I think what's jarring about armchair wankers, is its kind of like the whole stolen valour thing in the military. They think they're in the trenches with the real supporters every weekend, experiencing the same triumphs and disappointments, but they're just not. At all.

I did this once at a pre season friendly at Southport nearly 20 years ago. Didn't even drop my hotdog. My life peaked too early.
Had a very proud moment today as I lived out every fan's dream of heading the ball when it came into the stand. The crowd cheered, I pretended it didn't hurt, what a day.

Genuinely amazing that I am working 1 Sunday all year, and it just so happens to be this one.
ℹ️ Our trip to Boreham Wood in December has been rescheduled for coverage on DAZN. The clash which was originally scheduled for Saturday 20 December (3pm kick-off) will now be played the following day on Sunday 21 December and will get underway at 4pm.
