Senator Sue Lines opening ‘The Power Shift’ forum. A long standing supporter of AgZero2030, spending time in the WA regions, Senator Lines recognises decarbonisation must occur ‘with’ the Ag sector and not ‘on’ the sector.

This reads like an expansion strategy not a transition strategy. Fossil fuels need to be the fuel of last resort from now on. We can’t use short term problems to justify bad long term decisions. #auspol

This is climate change. After the hottest summer on record in Western Australia, forests & bushland in the south west are dying. It's devastating wildlife. We must urgently transition away from fossil fuels and double down on protecting nature. https://t.co/NMjcgfmbfU

Anger as 'great browning' spreads along 1,000km of West Aust. coast “It’s really tragic. The southwest of the state has always been a sanctuary – it’s the place you go to when it’s too bloody hot everywhere else. It’s just devastating…” Piers Verstegen

WA doesn’t need to decarbonise, we can help other countries by selling them our fossil gas. ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS @RogerCookMLA. WA government fails to back up premier’s claim expanding gas industry will be good for the planet #weareacapturedstate

Dry lightning started a blaze in the crown land adjacent to farmland today. Managed to contain it by nightfall. Hopefully these mallee fowl made it to safety. #seewhattomorrowbrings

@hirschirsch @lingy_smith The colours aren't the best, but here's a map of % of years below decile 2 for 2000-2023. Jurien and Cape Leeuwin have spent 50% of the last 23 years decile 2 or below in May-Oct. Followed by Wyalkatchem, Lake Grace, Moora, Pingaring and Holt Rock. Best place to be is Walpole 16%

@DPIRDbroadacre rainfall maps for April-October, not pretty. Temperature maps for August-October, less frost than average, but a lot warmer. #climate
