Our HR constantly cites “equity” to justify paying ppl less. Equity is never cited to pay ppl more.
How I learned words have different meanings to different people:. I was negotiating a salary & was told 56K was the most they could pay me, due to ✨equity✨. Didn’t want to seem anti-equity, so I didn’t press further. I later found out a dude at my level was being paid 72K.

I wish suicide prevention advocates understood these basic concepts of screening. Blind allegiance to “more screening” has worked against suicide prevention efforts in more ways than we realize.
I am begging people to understand that almost every test on the planet has something called "false positives," which means a risk that a result of the test is WRONG. A WRONG result can lead to necessary fear, worry, and at worst, unnecessary INVASIVE procedures or even.

Further evidence that mental health conditions are present in only a minority of suicide deaths. Most suicides do not involve a mental health diagnosis. Suicides without mental health diagnoses are much more likely to involve firearms.
