I encourage everyone to learn about luxury beliefs. I know I’ve had them, you’ve probably had them. Recognizing that will help you in recalibrating towards to humanity. 🙏

What struck me was the humour and the act of being playful. It reminded me of the Canadian festival culture. Joy was the real crime in the era of isolation.

So good. 👍

“You are holding a public hearing - the biggest one in Calgary’s history - to legitimize the elimination of future public hearings on local redevelopment.”

Thank you for pointing this out! The new speaker is very generous with his use of the mute button and it comes off as so patronizing to citizens (at best).
Touched a nerve over HAF influencing the Council process.
Mayor

turns to Clerk and Legal for a reason (implied) to nullify what I said.

needs to grill Administration over the Contribution Agreement. I think they fibbed.

I rent.
I use transit for my local travel - when I don’t walk.
I have a bicycle. I enjoy it very much.
I have a vehicle-I love that rusty ol’ beast.
I don’t need you to buy in to my lifestyle.
In fact, you’re welcome to dislike my lifestyle.
I’m against blanket rezoning.

Don’t even think about it, not unless you can afford $3000 a pop
NEW COLUMN. Gondek told us communication would be better. Apparently not when you ask: When did the city last inspect the water pipe that burst? City hall says nothing of busted crisis-causing water pipe via

Day 3 of public hearings with the majority speaking against blanket upzoning and more of the younger generation in favour. Everyone can have their say but if this passes there WON’T BE any more public hearings!
Remember peoples views change as they get older for better or worse?
This guy is good. Not enough time to tweet it all today, so go back for a watch if you get a chance. Talks about the democratic process. “Orwellian”. We get a whopping 5 minutes to have our say - even that will be gone.
Spoke to this guy outside City Hall the other day. He spoke of escaping a communist regime and worry of watching the same process occurring here.
He starts off mentioning the Hegelian Dialectic. 👀 💪
What would your advice be to save time and shrink costs?
GREAT Question from
@DanWMcLean
👏
And an even better answer from this Gentleman, who has worked in municipality and is clearly very knowledgeable

Chabot: reasons people aren’t against aren’t purely financial. There’s actually a lot of factors. They feel that we are giving developers more power, over giving the communities power
@KirkLubimov
You’d be surprised at the amount of permanent residents who wanted to sign the Recall Gondek petition but unfortunately weren’t able to due to the rules. Likely not the win they think it is.
“One clue in uncovering this deep-seated desperation is when they litter pronouncements with derisory reference to the word populist, as though nothing could be more demeaning than catering to the masses, even though they picked a career path dependent upon exactly that.”
This conversation with CREB and the current speaker should have happened before the housing plan.
Yet it appears that it is only happening now. In the questions segment, when the speaker doesn’t have all their data and spreadsheets available.
I made a cup of tea, snuggled up with my pet, and dove in to, (who could conceivably be me, minus the home ownership and the husband) and gave Sarah of Bowness the attention she deserves. It’s gonna be a lot of clips because twitter-but let’s start with Cllr Spencer’s questions:

Props to whoever took over comms. This is a much better direction.
Also it’s likely just the photo angles but it’s hard to imagine a whole truck fitting in there

The approach of the current

is patronizing, condescending, and treats people like children who need to be guided (at their own co$t) 🙄
“If these investigations find any member of administration or the mayor misled Calgarians or council there needs to be serious consequences,” says Sharp.

Why the whistleblower program? Are there some in admin/planning who need protection going against the orthodoxy?
“One wonders if the city is very bad at preparing budgets or, alternatively, no one is paying attention to the money being spent during the year. Neither of those possibilities is comforting to taxpayers.”

Welp! They are welcome to quit and live a quiet, peacful life out of public office!
No one forced them take the job. And no one is forcing them to keep it. 🤷♀️
