Population doesn't decline because of immigration caps. At worst, it would stay the same. Population dropped because we stopped paying for hotels for immigrants. They self deported, didn't they?
Canada just had its biggest population drop on record, mainly due to immigration caps. This is the 1st time the population has dropped since 2020. Canada’s population dropped by 76,068 in the 3rd quarter of 2025.
